Privacy Policy

This is the short version. We collect what we need to run Memry, we share it with no one, and we let you delete everything with one message. The full details follow.

Who we are

Memry is operated by Memry, Inc.. You can reach us at hi@hellomemry.com.

What we collect

  • Your phone number. The number you use on WhatsApp to message Memry. We use it to identify you and to send you the bot's replies.
  • Messages you send the bot. Voice notes are transcribed via OpenAI Whisper (see "Third parties"); the transcript and any structured fields the bot extracts (name, context, occupation, details) are stored on our servers.
  • Usage telemetry. When you sent a message, how many you've sent this month, your current plan. No content is attached.
  • Billing data. If you upgrade, your card is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number — only the last four digits Stripe gives us.

What we don't collect

  • Your WhatsApp contact list.
  • Your location.
  • Your other WhatsApp messages or chats.
  • Your microphone outside of voice notes you send to Memry.

Why we collect it

  • To run the bot and reply to you (legal basis: contract).
  • To bill you, if you're on a paid plan (legal basis: contract).
  • To monitor abuse and protect the service (legal basis: legitimate interest).

Third parties

We share data with these companies because we have to in order to provide the service:

  • OpenAI — receives your message text or audio for transcription, extraction, embeddings and reply generation. Per OpenAI's API terms, your data is not used to train their models.
  • Meta / WhatsApp — required to deliver and receive messages on the WhatsApp Business platform.
  • Stripe — payment processor for paid plans.
  • Vercel — hosts the Memry website and dashboard.
  • Resend — sends transactional and waitlist emails.
  • Plausible Analytics — privacy-first website analytics. No cookies, no personal data.
  • Sentry — error monitoring. We strip emails, phone numbers, and message content from error reports.

How long we keep your data

Until you delete it. Send delete all my data to Memry on WhatsApp, or use the "Delete account" button in your dashboard, and we permanently erase everything we have on you within 30 days. Backups roll off within 90 days.

Your rights (GDPR + CCPA + similar)

You can:

  • Access all your data — use "Export my data" in the dashboard for a full JSON dump.
  • Correct anything that's wrong — message Memry directly, or edit settings in the dashboard.
  • Delete everything — see above.
  • Object to processing or restrict it — pause the bot in dashboard settings, or email us.
  • Port your data — the JSON export is portable.

EU residents: you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

Cookies

The marketing site uses no tracking cookies. The dashboard sets two httpOnly cookies — your access and refresh tokens — purely to keep you signed in. No third-party analytics cookies.

Children

Memry is not directed at children under 13 (under 16 in the EU). If we learn we have collected data from a child, we delete it promptly.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll tell you on the homepage and (if it affects existing users) by email.
